Simon Powell
Simon is a multi-award-winning international writer/director and has over 20 years’ experience within the independent film industry spanning short films, features and corporate.
Work in Film: Simon began his career by producing short films, where his debut short film (wrote, produced and directed) The World According to Liam Lovelle was championed by the British Council and toured the world’s most prestigious film festivals for two years, such as Cannes, Venice, SXSW and Toronto.
Simon surpassed all expectations with his debut feature film, Poor Wee Me (2010) which he wrote, produced and directed and self-financed for £1,400. He then self-distributed with Independent Cinemas giving Q & A’s throughout the UK. Simon’s second feature film, Girl Shaped Love Drug (2012), went on to claim 5 international awards, 2 of which won best film at the European Independent Film Festival and the India Independent Film Festival, along with best screenplay. Simon’s 3rd film The Caravan (2014) starring Shirley Henderson, was distributed via streaming platforms such as iTunes and Amazon Prime.
Simon’s next feature film screenplays, Nebula & Rose Gold, is currently primed for principle photography is planned for summer 2024. Rose Gold is a coming of age film that cuts through the evolving Acid House era of ‘89 onwards in Manchester, set to a banging house sound-track provided by pioneer DJ Danny Rampling who joins the production as Music Supervisor.
Simon has completed the screenplay for a £35M project, charting the Roman invasion and the legendary last Celtic King, Caractacus, titled ‘43AD’ which has been selected by NETFLIX for their slate of Productions for 2024/25.
Simon has recently developed and written a treatment for Television along with Peaky Blinders/Time, BAFTA winning Producer, Simon Maloney which will be submitted to SKY ATLANTIC for potential commissioning. Also having just completed a feature length screenplay chartering the rise of Welsh premier league champions and Guinness book of world records (for the most consecutive wins) The New Saints and the success of club chairman, Mike Harris – this is scheduled to be filmed in 2025 and has also been picked up by NETFLIX.
Danny Rampling
Danny Rampling was one of the first super star DJ luminaries in the electronic music scene, remains a true pioneer, and a visionary in the global dance arena. Through his legendary Acid House club Shoom in the 1980s, Radio shows at Kiss FM, and his Saturday night residency for his Love Groove Dance Party at BBC Radio 1. Currently hosts Feeling the Force Saturday’s 7- 9pm radio show on Forceradio.net. Danny Rampling was a major catalyst that helped to shape the UK dance scene right from the early days in the late 1980’s, and is widely recognised as a founding father of the UK Dance scene. Danny Rampling has sold over a million compilation albums making him a household name, and has picked up many awards as well as regularly being on TV documentaries for National Geographic, the BBC, Channel 4, and MTV, Sky TV’s The Agony & the Ecstasy 2 Spanning 30 years, BBC 4’s ‘How Dance Music Conquered The World ’documentary series. Danny Rampling is regularly featured and respected for his unrivalled music knowledge, expertise.
Danny Rampling’s legendary DJ residences at places in Ibiza at Pacha, Amnesia, and Privilege, has cemented him into the White Isle’s history books, and continues to tour the world with his unique blend of classic and new wave House, Acid, and Techno. Ever since getting the accolade of Number #1 DJ in DJ Mag’s first ever poll, Danny Rampling continues to be at the forefront of the music scene. 2019 has been a jam packed year full of touring all around the UK, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Mallorca, Ibiza, Holland, and festivals Milkshake in Amsterdam, Clockwork Orange in Ibiza, EH1 Festival in Glasgow, Cream, Vocal Booth Weekender in Alicante, Ministry of Sound, Cool Britannia in Knebworth, Carfest for BBC Children In Need, K2 Festival in Wales, Shoom at Paradiso Amsterdam NYE, Shoom in Brighton, 90’s Fest, Cleethorpes Gathering, Australia & Thailand to name a few.
Ian Livingstone is a British Ivor Novello award winning composer, musician and music producer. He has composed over 100 scores for multi-million selling titles and franchises including Battlefield, Forza, Lego, Formula 1, Warhammer, Total War, Batman, StarTrek, Harry Potter, Disney Marvel and DC. Along with his 20+ years experience scoring triple A video games Livingstone has also scored numerous feature films including the forthcoming “97 Minutes” starring Alec Baldwin, romcom “Puppyhood” starring Lucy Hale and Grant Gustin. He’s also composed for numerous television series such as the BBC 1’s “The Great British Sewing Bee” & “The Repair Shop”, Channel 4’s “Big Fat Gypsy Weddings” together with contributing songs and orchestrations for movies such as “Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince” and Michael Keaton’s “The Last Time”. Ian also worked closely with Nokia in the 90s on the arrangements and compositions for its default ringtones including the infamous “Grand Valse” Nokia tune, and the start up tune.
Simon Dinnegan
Simon has edited the majority of 53 Degrees North’s body of work and offers post production services in Editing within TV Documentaries, Drama, Independent Films, Music Videos and Commercials. WWP also have vast experience in Online Editing, Colouring and Dubbing Mixing for Broadcast TV and Film. Furthermore, WWP provides experienced DIT (Digital Imaging Technician) services for on set productions, closely working with the camera department, and collaborating consistently with DOPs and Directors. WWP have worked with TV Dramas for Channel 4, ITV, BBC, Netflix, and Sky.
