Synopsis

The New Saint is the extraordinary, inspirational yet hugely controversial story of Mike Harris, Chairman of The New Saints Football Club. His vision is to take his local village football team, Llansantffraid F.C, with only a population of 900 into becoming the most successful football club ever in the Welsh Premier league - winning the title a record 15 times. The story begins with Mike’s early career as a YTS Engineer for British Telecom, who quit his job and built his own company into a multi-million-pound empire – which was ironically purchased by British Telecom. With significant investment secured and Mike’s vision, he endeavoured to take this village football team on a journey that no one could have imagined and into Champions League football, where they would become regulars. Reaching their heights in Europe, 2005, The New Saints were paired with current European’s Champions, Liverpool F.C.
